The reading from our textbook (Anderson) provides great context and ideas on how to communicate in our digital world. Our writing should be reader-centered, and our websites should be easy to navigate. Keeping it short, sweet, and to the point helps remind us that our readers' time is valuable, and we should be getting our point across. Points like knowing your readers, their culture, and customs, writing in short paragraphs for social media, and following local conventions help get your point across.
What I loved about Michelle Gibbions' article "Strengthen Your Social Media Professionally" is that she mentioned using social media like a digital business card. I never thought about it that way, and it is so true. Social media is the newest way for everyone to maintain a vast network. It opens up a world that our parents and grandparents never dreamed of. The key is using it strategically, which can significantly help any business.
This week's readings focused on how social media is helping us grow our business and brand in many ways. We can reach out worldwide now and make connections that we could have never made in the past. With the integration of AI now, we can do so much more. The internet, AI, and social media have many upsides, but I can argue that we must be careful not to let it take over our lives. Nothing can replace good old-fashioned hard work and the ability to look someone in the eye and make a deal.
