Week 2 Readings
There are many ways that technology
helps us in our daily lives. From Alexa
turning on our lights and heat to finishing our degrees online. But did it prevent us from having face-to-face
conversations? With technology and AI
adding significant improvements to our home and business lives, having the “old-fashioned”
conversation seemed to be left by the waste side. This week's readings showed that social
media is our digital profile and “business card,” and AI helping us bridge our
cultures together; having a face-to-face meeting still does not go out of
style. The Forbes magazine article pointed
out how AI can enhance our understanding of doing business in other cultures
and help coach us on how to have different conversations. That can be so helpful in expanding our
business and teaching us how to approach situations that can be difficult.
There is nothing like having a
conversation with a person face to face. The meaning of your words cannot get
lost in translation, like in a text or “tweet.”
Technology is great and helpful, but human connection should not be
lost. Being isolated, like we were during the pandemic, shows how important it
is to connect in person.
